THE FIRM
In 1974, Harvey Tator C.A. commenced his practice as Harvey Tator, C.A as a sole practitioner in the downtown Toronto area known as the Annex. The firm grew and continued to operate under the same name until 1991 when Dave Rose C.A. a senior manager at the practice became a partner. The firm name then changed to Harvey Tator & Associate. In 2001, Edmund Leong C.A. became a partner and the firm now operates under the name, Tator, Rose & Leong, Chartered Accountants  Since 1974, the firm's office has been working in the same location servicing both the local area and the GTA as well as out of province and overseas clients. Many of the clients that have been serviced in 1974 still exist today. Our goal has always been to provide professional accounting, auditing and income tax services to our clients at a fair fee. Whether tax planning, financial consultation, or tax compliance is required, a long term vision and relationship is essential with your financial professionals. Our alliance with foreign tax specialists, legal, information technology specialists, and even bookkeepers have been useful to many of our small to mid-sized clients in search of additional services to fulfill their business objectives. Combining our network of service providers with our guidance will ensure that you achieve your financial objectives in a timely and cohesive manner.
THE PARTNERS
DAVE ROSE, B.Comm., C.A. Dave attended the University of Toronto and obtained in his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1984. After graduation Dave worked in private industry as a senior accountant before joining the practice of Harvey Tator, C.A. in 1985. Dave obtained his C.A. designation in 1990 and became a partner with the firm in 1991. Volunteering annually to the Institute of Chartered Accountants - Tax Clinic Program, Dave provides tax preparation services to seniors and low income earners.  Dave is skilled in the areas of Real Estate, and taxation. Dave believes timely and reliable service are essential in meeting client needs.
EDMUND LEONG, B.Comm., C.A. Edmund graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1991. During University Edmund worked with Harvey Tator & Associate on a part time basis before becoming a full time employee with the practice in 1991. In 1994 Edmund obtained his C.A. designation and became a partner with the firm in 2001. Edmund is skilled in the areas of Not-for-Profit Audits, Real Estate and Information Technology consultation with our clients. Open and clear communication amongst our clients are what Edmund feels our clients deserve to properly convey their needs and objectives. JOANNE HUANG, B.Comm., C.A. Joanne recently joined Tator, Rose & Leong as Partner. Joanne has a long history with the firm, commencing as a student in High School Co-op program in 2001, followed by several years as a summer student. She is returning to our firm after four years with a “Big Four” CA firm. Joanne attended the University of Toronto and graduated in 2006 with high distinction in the commerce program and received her C.A. designation in 2008. During her career, Joanne has gathered substantial experience in performing audits and quarterly reviews for client base specializing in the financial, industrial and manufacturing sectors. In addition, Joanne’s tenure with the international tax group at one of the “Big Four” CA firms provided her with great experience in addressing cross-border tax issues for both individuals and businesses. CALVIN MAK, B.B.A., C.A. Calvin attended the University of Toronto and obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with distinction in 2007. Immediately after graduation, Calvin began his accounting career as a staff accountant here at Tator, Rose & Leong. In 2010, Calvin obtained his C.A. designation and became a partner with the firm in 2011. Calvin brings to the firm a depth of knowledge in accounting, assurance and taxation matters for small private enterprises and not-for-profit enterprises. Calvin also specializes in the areas of personal, corporate and commodity taxes. Calvin believes that providing professional and quality services in a timely manner is the key to meet our client objectives and needs.
CONSULTANT/ SENIOR MANAGER HARVEY TATOR, B.A., C.A. Harvey attended University of Toronto and obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy Degree) in 1966. Subsequent to graduation, Harvey worked in public practice for a downtown Toronto Chartered Accounting firm before obtaining his Chartered Accounting designation in 1974. Soon afterwards, he formed his own practice as a sole proprietor and maintained the practice in the Annex community in the Bloor/Spadina area. Harvey served as a board member of the Toronto C.A. Association from 1988 to 1990.  In 1992 Harvey became the President of the North York C.A Association for a 1-year term. Harvey's other community efforts include serving as a past treasurer and member of the Board of Directors for the Downtown Jewish Day School, a past member of the Squash Committee, Hart House U of T, and member for 35 years of the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre (formerly the JCC). Harvey is skilled in the areas of tax planning and believes that providing professional service is of utmost importance to our clients. On February 1, 2010 Harvey stepped out of the position as partner with the firm. He is currently providing consulting services to Tator, Rose & Leong. GLENN GOLDHAHN, Senior Manager. Glenn joined Tator, Rose & Leong in 1995 after graduating from Seneca College. With his many years of practice in accounting, Glenn has developed extensive experience in audit, Canadian personal and corporate income tax, with particular experience in cross border tax issues. Many of our clients have benefitted from Glenn’s knowledge of compliance issues and guidance in setting up professional corporations.
